VOCATIONAL EDUCATION & CAREER TRAINING

VOCATIONAL EDUCATION & CAREER TRAINING

The Vocational Education and Career Training program helps children with vision impairment to be familiar with careers for the blind and develops work related skills starting right from pre-school age and through their school years. Teenagers with vision impairment who are older than 13 spend more time on vocational education, attending soft skills training, discussing their options with the vocational counsellor and being given the opportunity to have work experience in various careers to prepare for future work as adults.

Career training includes a wide range of careers that may be suitable for people with vision impairment. We list some of the most common ones below:

- Traditional medicine

- Agriculture

- Handi-craft

- Music

- Food and drink service

- Information Technology, Office work, and Library

- Translation

- Teaching & caring

- Business

- Other careers.
