MUTIPLE IMPAIRMENT EDUCATION

EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN WITH MULTIPLE DISABILITIES

The Multiple Disabilities program provides care and education to children with multiple disabilities including vision impairment (MDVI). These children have vision impairment and in addition have other impairments such as cerebral palsy, hearing impairment, language disorders, intellectual impairment, autism spectrum disorders, behaviour disorders, or mental illness.

The educational program focuses on rehabilitation, focusing on each child’s abilities and interests and developing independence in self care, building communication and increasing their active participation in their lives. As with all children, our goal is to help these children develop to their fullest potential and live as happily and independently as possible.

After finishing the program, children with MDVI go to the Career training program and are supported step by step toward greater inclusion into their families and society.
